Chit-Chat: Lizzadro gem of a museum

Lovers of gemstones, jade works of art and other treasures born of the earth will be drawn to the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art, where a traveling Smithsonian exhibit provides added sparkle for a few more days. Gemologist Dorothy Asher, museum director, talks about the Smithsonian’s pieces by San Francisco jewelry designer Sidney Mobell, including his gem-encrusted chess set, trash can, and gold mousetrap with a diamond wedge of cheese.

Jewelry designer to make appearance at Hursts' Berwyn Jewelers

Meet jewelry designer Falcher Fusager of MAGICK Fusager Design, Inc. on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 13 and 14, at Hursts' Berwyn Jewelers, 6418 W. Cermak Road, during a special event.

A trunk show of the artist's work will also go on those two days at the jewelry store, followed by a reception and workshop on Sunday, Nov. 15 at the store and will be by appointment only.

Free necklace for mom at Bella Cosa Jewelers on May 6

Bella Cosa Jewelers in Willowbrook is giving away 100 free necklaces on May 6 to individuals who've lost their job and/or home and want to give mom something special. The necklaces are courtesy of international designer Petra Azar.
