Cantigny to provide scenic setting for Green Fair festivities

Final plans are in place for the Cantigny Green Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at 1S151 Winfield Road, Wheaton. Cantigny Park, part of the McCormick Foundation, and SCARCE are hosting the first-time event in partnership with Whole Foods and DuPage County. SCARCE stands for School and Community Assistance for Recycling and Composting Education.

The family-friendly attractions will emphasize the practical value of being environmentally responsible in everyday life.

Recycled Art Contest, 'FashionEcoNista Show' at Cantigny Park

In light of Cantigny Park and SCARCE's first-ever Green Fair, a Recycled Art Contest is being offered to area high school and college students. 

Entrants must use recycled materials or items that can be recycled for their art pieces. Cash prizes will be awarded: $250 for first place; $150 for second; and $100 for third. Honorable Mention Awards will also be awarded to originality, creativity and "Best Use of Recycled Content." All students will receive a Certificate of Recognition.
