Village Theatre Guild will conduct auditions for “Rabbit Hole” by David Lindsay-Abaire. They take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at the theater at Park Boulevard and Butterfield Road, Glen Ellyn.

The show will be performed weekends from Jan. 15 to Feb. 6, directed by Bill Burghardt.

Students in grades three through nine are invited to audition for Rising Star Theatreworks' January production of “Annie Jr.” from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 14 and 15, at The Arcada Theatre in St. Charles.

“Annie Jr.” tells of a spunky Depression-era orphan determined to find her parents after being abandoned on the doorstep of a New York City orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie foils Miss Hannigan’s schemes, befriends President Franklin Roosevelt, and finds a new family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his secretary, and a lovable dog named Sandy. Its upbeat plot and flamboyant characters have made Annie one of the most beloved musicals in history.

The Noble Fool Theatricals Performing Arts Academy is looking for local teen actors ages 13 to 18 to play in their upcoming production of "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" at Pheasant Run Resort, 4051 E. Main St., St. Charles.

Open auditions will be held on the Preservation Hall Studio Stage from 5 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20 and from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21. No appointment is necessary.

Interested teens should prepare and memorize a one-minute monologue that best displays their talent. Actors may also be asked to do a cold reading from the script. Everyone should bring a headshot and a resume.

Disney's "Sleeping Beauty" won't be sleeping this fall. The production is being revived to take the place of the cancelled Noble Fool ensemble production of "Grease." All dates/times remain the same.

Auditions for "Sleeping Beauty," which is open to local youth ages 8 to 18, will be held on Thursday and Sunday at Pheasant Run Resort, 4051 E. Main St., St. Charles. Auditions are open on the Preservation Hall Studio Stage at Pheasant Run on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 6 to 9 p.m. and on the Pheasant Run Mainstage on Sunday, Sept. 13 from 5 to 9 p.m. No appointment is necessary.

Singers, dancers, and actors in grades second through ninth are being sought to audition for "The Music Man Jr.," an adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical to be presented October 22-25 at the Hemmens Cultural Center in Elgin.

Auditions for "The Music Man Jr." will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, September 1 and 2, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 37W040 Highland Ave., Elgin (the northwest corner of Randall Road and Highland Avenue).

Aster Brio Dance Company is holding open auditions in Riverside for dancers ages 13 to 19 with previous ballet, modern and jazz training.

The New Classic Singers, a professional choral ensemble based at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, will hold auditions for new members in all sections by appointment on July 22 and 23. The 36-voice chorus has openings in all sections for the 2009-2010 season, its 28th.

Auditions are open to all interested adults, and will include sight-reading, vocalizing, and the performance of two contrasting pieces. An accompanist will be provided.
