CHIT-CHAT: Gordon France dives into watercolor

Fluid energy sparks the beautifully rendered paintings of Gordon France of La Grange. He originally trained at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago for a successful career in the ad agency business, but says it wasn’t until a few years before his retirement in 2000 that he enrolled in adult night classes at The Art Institute and picked up a paintbrush.

He now has a new full-time occupation that finds him capturing images from Chicago to East Coast seascapes and embarking on overseas painting workshops he shares with his wife, Jacqueline, a fellow artist.
