Diamond anniversary spins into view for Delnor Auxiliary Charity Ball

“The Diamond Celebration: A Past to Cherish, A Promise to Fulfill” is the theme of this year’s Delnor Auxiliary Charity Ball.

It will be held Saturday, Nov. 14, at the St. Charles Country Club in St. Charles. The event will mark 60 years of the Delnor Charity Ball tradition, and will feature cocktails, a live auction, dinner, dancing and entertainment reminiscent of the period when the first ball was held.
 
Tickets cost $175, and the ball is black tie optional. All proceeds raised will be used to fulfill the Auxiliary’s $1 million dollar pledge of support to Delnor Health System. To reserve tickets, call (630) 208-4265 or visit www.supportdelnor.org.

It’s a happy 60th for the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, whose anniversary season will launch with famed guitar ensemble The Romeros. The milestone year also features a new Family Fun Series ready to engage a fresh generation of music lovers. 'Say Goodnight Gracie' to commemorate St. Charles' 175 years

As St. Charles celebrates its 175th Anniversary, Arcada Theatre will have a stage production commemorating the milestone.

"Say Goodnight Gracie," the life, love and laughter of George Burns and Gracie Allen, plays at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27, at Arcada Theatre, 105 E. Main St., St. Charles. The Arcada Theatre was actually George and Gracie's last performance in vaudeville.

Ron Hawking to appear at Olympic Theatre's one-year anniversary celebration

The Olympic Theatre is celebrating their one-year anniversary on Saturday, Aug. 29, with a performance by Ron Hawking.

Hawking will appear in the Frank Sinatra tribute, "His Way: A Tribute to the Man and His Music," at the Cicero theater, 6134 W. Cermak Road.

An Ice Cream Social and Concert in the Park will celebrate the 50 years of incorporation of the village of Glendale Heights. Join the fun from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 28, in front of the nostalgic Glendale Heights Historic House at Heritage Park, 311 Windy Point Drive, at Paul Avenue. 

Customize your ice cream sundae creation with “scooping” assistance provided by volunteers of the Special Event Commission. Then relax and enjoy a music performance by the White Saddle Band playing a variety of favorites.
