Rising Star Theatreworks to stage ‘Annie Jr.’

A young Rising Star Theatreworks cast will present "Annie Jr." from Friday through Sunday, Jan. 29 to 31, at The Arcada Theatre, 105 E. Main St., St. Charles. In addition, the final dress rehearsal — at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28 — will be open to individuals with special needs and their families, and a school show is available at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29.
 
"Annie Jr.” tells the story of a spunky Depression-era orphan determined to find her parents after being abandoned on the doorstep of a New York City orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie manages to foil Miss Hannigan’s schemes, befriend President Franklin Roosevelt, and find a new family with billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his secretary and a lovable dog named Sandy.

Auditions open for ‘Annie Jr.’ at Arcada in St. Charles

Students in grades three through nine are invited to audition for Rising Star Theatreworks' January production of “Annie Jr.” from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 14 and 15, at The Arcada Theatre in St. Charles.

“Annie Jr.” tells of a spunky Depression-era orphan determined to find her parents after being abandoned on the doorstep of a New York City orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie foils Miss Hannigan’s schemes, befriends President Franklin Roosevelt, and finds a new family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his secretary, and a lovable dog named Sandy.
