Best Bets for New Year's Eve: Kane County Edition
Now is as good a time as any to start making New Year's Eve plans, if you haven't already. Here are just a few of the New Year's Eve celebrations that are going on in Kane County:
BOURBON STREET CELEBRATION
No need to go to New Orleans to party on Bourbon Street for New Year’s Eve, when you can celebrate at Pheasant Run Resort’s own version. The St. Charles resort offers four party packages for families and couples to celebrate the holiday: Bourbon Street Bash Package ($239 per couple), Bourbon Street Culinary Delight Package ($355), A Zany New Year’s Eve at Zanies Comedy Club ($425) and A Theatrical New Year’s Eve with Noble Fool Theatricals ($455). A Kid's Klub New Year's MASKuerade Party and Teen Party will also be offered. Call the resort for package details. Advanced reservations are required.

A TOAST TO DINNER
Celebrate New Year’s Eve at Wildwood in Geneva with a special holiday dinner. The restaurant will offer an extensive dinner menu with steak and seafood specials, with seating from 5 to 11 p.m. in the main dining room. A celebration will be held in the Private Dining Room from 8:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. and will include music by Gregory Hyde, party favors and a champagne toast. Space is limited. Reservations are recommended.

DRIFT INTO A NEW YEAR AT ONESTI DINNER CLUB
The Motown entertainment of the Legendary Drifters and tunes by singer Diva Montell will provide the soundtrack to dinner at the Onesti Dinner Club on New Year’s Eve. Dinner reservations are at 6 and 8:30 p.m. and includes a champagne toast, prime steak, lobster and other courses of choice. The 8:30 p.m. seating includes a seven-course meal and the musical entertainment; the earlier seating time does not. Reservations are required.

PARTY ALL NIGHT AND DAY
Stay up until six in the morning skating, bowling, riding bumper cars and playing video games on New Year’s Day at the Funway Ultimate Entertainment Center. The Batavia center offers a full night of skating and bowling for $35 per person, as one of its four party packages. Other packages include the Family Skate Party from 7 to 9:15 p.m. and 9:15 to 10 p.m. ($12 per person), New Year’s Eve Bowl from 5 to 7 p.m. and 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. ($95 per lane of up to five people) and Ultimate New Year’s Eve Bowling Party from 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. ($150 per lane). A CLASSY NEW YEAR
A five-course dinner will be offered in the Waterfront Room at Hotel Baker in St. Charles. Seating is at 6:30 and 7 p.m., as well as at 9 and 9:30 p.m. The two latter times include a champagne toast, party favors and musical entertainment by The Cavern Beat, a Beatles Tribute Band. Room packages including dinner are also available. Reservations are required.
