Art auction to benefit community services

The Brotherhood of Congregation Etz Chaim will host an art auction to benefit community services and other programs of the synagogue Saturday evening, Dec. 5. Dubbed “Champagne, Chocolate, and Chagall: An Elegant Evening of Art and Edibles,” the event will be held in the social hall of the synagogue in Lombard.

Participants can preview the art beginning at 6 p.m. while enjoying champagne, chocolate and other treats; the auction will begin at 7 p.m.

Art to be auctioned includes framed works by such artists as Chagall, Erte, Dali, Miro, Picasso, Disney, Rockwell, Neiman, Agam, McKnight and Kinkade. Media include lithographs, etchings, watercolors, original oils, mixed media, cartoon cels, silkscreens and more. Event chair Ted Rudman says the professional auctioneer will conduct an informative and entertaining event.

Admission costs $10 per person and is open to the public. It includes all refreshments and a raffle ticket for a chance to win a work of art.

Congregation Etz Chaim, the only Reform synagogue in DuPage County, is at 1710 S. Highland Ave. For more information, contact the office at (630) 627-3912 or visit www.congetzchaim.org.
