‘Christmas Carol’ Broadway musical hits stage

Steel Beam Theatre in downtown St. Charles presents Alan Menken’s musical version of “A Christmas Carol”  from now through Sunday, Dec. 20, with performances weekends and special Thursdays at 111 W. Main St. Well-known Chicago director Elizabeth Margolius offers a fresh new approach to the classic Dickens story about Scrooge and redemption.

Artistic Director Donna Steele says Menken, the Broadway musical composer of “Little Mermaid” and “Beauty and the Beast,” provides a lovely new score with singable melodies and touching ballads under the direction of Chicagoan Jeremy Ramey.
