‘Love of Art Show’ unveiled in Lemont

The 15th annual “Love of Art Show and Sale” will be presented by the Lemont Artists Guild and the Lemont Park District. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Lemont Park District, 16028 127th St.

Organizers note the show grows in size, attendance and the quality of fine art and fine craft each year. In 2008, more than 45 artists exhibited and sold their original work in painting, ceramics, photography, woodworking, drawing, glass, jewelry, fiber and other media. Only original fine art and fine craft are allowed at the show, which is judged by professional artists.

“Half of the prize winners (last year) were Lemont Artists Guild members, which is a wonderful showing for our membership,” say guild officers.

The guild is a nonprofit association that provides fine art education, instruction, programming and appreciation. Monthly meetings are held the third Wednesday evening of the month at the Lemont Park District from September through May. A short business meeting is followed by a program on an aspect of art.
