Auditions near at Village Theatre Guild
Village Theatre Guild will conduct auditions for “Rabbit Hole” by David Lindsay-Abaire. They take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at the theater at Park Boulevard and Butterfield Road, Glen Ellyn.
The show will be performed weekends from Jan. 15 to Feb. 6, directed by Bill Burghardt.
The cast requires three women, one man and one teenage boy:
• Becca (late thirties/early forties) traumatized by her son’s death and having trouble dealing with it. Sensitive and conflicted.
• Howie (late thirties/early forties) conflicted about son’s death. Can't let go. Not quick to change.
• Izzy (Becca’s sister, early thirties) a loose cannon. Borderline barfly. Has deeper moments.
• Nat (Becca and Izzy’s mother, mid-sixties) concerned, outspoken.
• Jason (a 17-year-old boy) deep thinking and sensitive.
Auditions will include readings from the play. For script sides, visit www.villagetheatreguild.org or contact Maggie Fredricks, producer, at (630) 469-6248.
The Pulitzer Prize-winning play focuses on a family in turmoil and conflict following the accidental death of their young son due to a random and blameless traffic accident.
